A: Hydraulic brakes automatically adjust for pad wear, with the pistons moving slightly outward. When changing pads, push the pistons back and return fluid to the reservoir. Then, pump the lever to set proper adjustment: 1. Insert a flathead screwdriver between the metal edges of the pads to force them apart. 2. Use the gap to wedge a larger flathead screwdriver between the pads, gently pushing the pistons back and resetting the calipers.
