SRAM's No Dot 5.1 Bicycle Brake Bleed Kit: A Professional Drip-Free Solution
The SRAM No Dot 5.1 Bicycle Brake Bleed Kit is a professional-grade, drip-free bleeding kit designed for hydraulic SRAM disc brakes. This comprehensive kit includes everything needed to effectively bleed your SRAM disc brakes, except for the DOT fluid itself.
The kit is compatible with a wide range of SRAM brake models, including XX, XO, Guide Ultimate, Level, Avid, and hydraulic road brakes, making it a versatile tool for the home workshop. By taking your home maintenance to the next level, this bleed kit ensures your SRAM disc brakes operate at their peak performance.
Key Features and Specifications: - Caliper Compatibility: SRAM XX, XO, Guide Ultimate, Level, & Avid hydraulic disc brakes - Fluid Compatibility: DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 Brake Fluid - Variety of caliper bleed blocks (Avid, Guide Ultimate, XX, XO, & Level) - Pad spacers - Replacement seals and parts - 2 bleed syringes - 3 Lever bleed syringes with clamps
Comprehensive Bleeding Instructions: 1. Brake Pad Removal: Remove the pad retainer bolt, E-clip, and brake pads. Insert the bleed block into the caliper to press the pistons fully into the bores, then reinstall the pad retainer bolt.
Syringe Preparation: Thread the lever bleed clamp assembly and bleeding edge tool onto the syringes. Fill the lever bleed syringe 3/4 full with DOT fluid and the syringe with the bleeding edge tool with a small amount of DOT fluid. Ensure there are no air bubbles and close the syringe clamp.
Caliper Preparation: Remove the bleed plug, use a 4mm hex wrench to loosen the bleed port valve, and gently re-tighten. Push the bleeding edge tool into the caliper bleed port until it clicks into place, then rotate it counter-clockwise to open the system.
Bike Brake System Bleed: Open the lever syringe clamp. Hold the syringe vertically and gently push the plunger down, stopping before air enters the hose tube. Brake fluid will fill the syringe at the caliper. Hold the caliper syringe vertically and slowly pull the lever syringe plunger upward to draw fluid from the caliper syringe. Repeat this process until only a small amount of bubbles appear. Rotate the bleeding edge tool clockwise to close the system, then squeeze and release the lever blade. Hold the syringe vertically, pull the plunger to create a vacuum, and then compress the plunger to pressurize and equalize the system. Close the clamp on the syringe and remove the system.
Finalize the process by reinstalling the bleed screw, bleed plug, and removing the bleed block. Use water and a rag to remove any DOT fluid, then reinstall the brake pads, pad retainer bolt, and E-clip.
